Sink, basin and floor trap choke clearing
Slow drains, standing water and bad smells from the floor trap. We clear the blockage and clean the trap so water flows properly again.
What we clear
- Kitchen sink chokes caused by grease and food waste
- Bathroom basin chokes from hair and soap build-up
- Floor trap chokes in bathrooms, kitchens and yards
- Washing machine outlet and service yard drains
How the job is done
We remove and clean the sink bottle trap or P-trap, then clear the pipe beyond it with a drain snake. For floor traps we open the grating, clear the trap and flush the line. If the pipe is badly coated with grease, we use a higher-powered drain machine.
After clearing, we run water for a few minutes to confirm the flow and check all joints for leaks.
Floor trap smells
A smelly floor trap is often a dry trap seal, not a choke. If a floor trap is not used often, the water seal evaporates and sewer gas comes up. Pouring water in regularly fixes this. If the smell continues, the trap may be cracked or the seal damaged, which we can repair.
Prevention tips
- Wipe greasy pans with paper before washing
- Use a sink strainer to catch food and hair
- Flush drains with hot (not boiling) water weekly

Frequently asked questions
Why does my kitchen sink keep choking?
The most common cause is grease that hardens inside the pipe and traps food waste. A proper clear-out with a drain machine removes the build-up, not just the top layer.
Can you fix a floor trap that smells?
Yes. We check whether it is a dry seal, a choke or a damaged trap, and fix the actual cause.
Do you handle commercial kitchen sinks?
Yes, including F&B outlets. Ask us about grease trap-related chokes.
Got a plumbing problem right now?
Call or WhatsApp. A plumber can be with you in 30–45 minutes.
